About Top of the Phnom
This blog is a place for me to document, to record, to show, to recommend and to ramble. Around here, you'll find a journal of my travels, places I love, and suggestions on places to eat, things to do and where to shop. You'll see that I like photos more than words, but that sometimes I have a lot to say.
(By the way, the name is a little play on words: Phnom in Khmer means mountain)
and a bit about me (Cue blushing)
I've lived on 3 continents and travelled to over 25 countries, and I hope to add a lot more to that list.
I love living in Cambodia because people are friendly, it's perfectly acceptable to wear your PJs to the shops, there's lots of butterflies and I can get clothes and shoes made for less than I buy them for back home.
I'm not so keen on the heat, humidity, dust, power and water failures, rubbish and helmet hair.
I'm passionate about travel, books and pretty things.
I'm addicted to coffee.
My favourite place is anywhere by the ocean with the Boy, a good book and a cocktail.
I blog because (...if I was being totally honest I'd say I don't really know, but that doesn't make for very interesting reading, so...) it gives me an outlet to ramble about whatever I like, it reminds me of the great things about living in Phnom Penh, and it's a good excuse to take photos. And I hope that in some small way some of the stuff I write will help / inspire / entertain others.

Dear Annie,
ReplyDeleteMy name is Joe Pinzone and I'm casting an international travel show about expats moving abroad. We'd love to film in Cambodia and wanted to know if you could help us find expats who have moved there within the last 15 months or have been there for 3-4 years, but recently moved into a new home. The show documents their move to a new country and will place the country in fabulous light. The contributors on the show would also receive monetary compensation if they are filmed. If you'd like more information, please give me a call at 212-231-7716 or skype me at joefromnyc. You can also email me at joepinzone@leopardusa.com. Looking forward to hearing from you.
